In Loving Memory - Boomer
by Team Barista on Feb 10 2026
It is with the heaviest of hearts to announce the passing of Boomer on February 10th, 2026.
Boomer suffered an aortic thromboembolism, leaving his rear legs paralyzed and himself in a significant amount of distress. He was rushed to an emergency veterinarian, where, with a tremendous amount of sadness, it was decided that euthanasia was the most humane course of action considering his prognosis. Boomer was made comfortable and passed without pain, surrounded by love, empathy and kindness.
Boomer, his name derived from community consensus, was a 7-year-old, mild-mannered rescue who had survived a coyote attack at 4 months old before he came to us, a survivor! He spent his entire life as our shop cat and beloved family member here at Cloud Barista, greeting clients, supporting staff members and showering them with all the feline love. He had a great many adoring humans in his life; he was loved deeply and was never shy about returning that sentiment.
Personally, Boomer was a companion for me during many changes and challenges in my life over the last 7 years. Always available to me when I needed unconditional love. Always with just the right amount of attitude and knuckleheaded antics to melt my heart. I had always believed he came into my life for a reason and enriched it in ways that defy description.
Boomer touched many, many hearts with his kind and gentle soul.
Rest in peace, lil’ man.
